IAmGifted

we all have that special thing we do, don't we..

you may be smarter than the next person but she can sing wayyy better than you..

admittedly, some people are more gifted than others..

she's smartANDpretty and all i am is funny.. FUNNY?! i ain't a comedy!! sheesh

well question, does it matter?

ok true, to the world it does cos, we live in a sucky world. the hierarchy of talent and beauty is constantly smacking itself in our faces. but may i please draw your attention to the true definition of a gift?

gift
–noun
1. something given voluntarily without payment in return, as to show favor toward someone, honor an occasion, or make a gesture of assistance; present.

2. something bestowed or acquired without any particular effort by the recipient or without it being earned

every gift or talent you have is precisely what it is.. a gift from God..

did you earn it? do you deserve it? God could've made you scum of the earth, you wouldn't have been able to do anything about that.. a bottom feeder, a waste of resources to breed.. but no, God chose to present you with your giftings..

hence the question should not be, "do i have more gifts than him?" or even, "is my gift more valuable and treasured than his?"

for the question should be, "how do i use what God gave me for his glory?"

to the insecure who think they aren't good enough, recognise this: that God handpicked what he bestowed upon you.. it doesn't matter what the world thinks, only what God thinks matter..

so you've got a gifting in an area that is often overlooked, like encouragment perhaps.. but if through your encouragment souls are saved and preserved, you have pleased God and he is proud of you for using your gift for his name..

and to the proud: how long are you gonna use what God gave you for your own glory?

pride ain't pretty my friend, we are called to be humble servants.. are you serving God with your giftings or flaunting them for self recognition?

the Lord gives and takes away, who's to stop Him from taking what he gave you in the first place?

Proverbs 16:5

5 The LORD detests all the proud of heart.
Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.

if you can sing? worship!
speak well? preach!
smart? teach!
dance? do it before the Lord

for they are gifts, from the heavenly father, to you..
