WorthFightingFor
so the other day at family dinner, my sisters and i were getting all excited discussing our future lives and future husbands (haha yeah we do that..) and then one of my sisters starting saying how cool it is that we all kinda have our own thing and we can send our kids to each other's houses to get training..
like, my oldest sister can play the piano, drums, flute and harp.. so she was gonna be the music teacher for all our kids..
my second sister is the star soccer player of her school's soccer team (i am not kidding) and she was the one scheduled to train all our boys to become men..
my youngest sister is extremely hardworking (i assure you, more than me) and we were gonna send our kids to her house to study..
then it came to my turn right.. they were like, oh what's left? what can we use sarah for..
and then my second sister said, "bible study la! "
it was not said in a good way like encouraging and what not.. you could hear the scorn dripping from her tone..
well you see, people don't realise that my sisters aren't exactly like me in the spiritual sense.. they are kinda of the world if you know what i mean..
so anyway, when she said that, i was taken aback.. i could've easily sprung into my how dare you treat godliness with sarcasm speech.. maybe even throw in a you think you're heading to heaven just for believing?! well the devil believes and living like the world's gonna get you where he's going..
but at that point, i just held my tongue and said,"well that's a compliment.. thanks"
you see, that battle was not worth fighting for.. what was i gonna get out of it?
anger? check
bitterness? check
closed ears? checkcheckcheck
sometimes in the battle of being heard, of "spreading the light and truth to the lost world" we fight battles that are not worth fighting for.. by NO means am i saying that that soul ain't worth fighting for, i mean.. at that point in time, that situation, fighting would only lead to a lost for both sides..
we gotta be wise people.. choose your battles carefully..
for so what if you get your message across in a clear, crisp and consise way but it only leads to the person turning further away?.. are you deserving of a pat on the back?
this principal doesn't only apply for stuff like sharing the gospel..
in our everyday life, we meet people with different views and opinions on stuff.. they may be wrong, they may be way wrong.. but so what if you are right? so what if you shout your "right"views from the top of the mountains?
the kind of battles not fought with wisdom, only lead to wars
for we are called to be Christ's ambassaders.. are you forcing food down people's throats all the time? is that Christ like? did Jesus go right up to the pharisee's faces and say, "you going to hell buddy.."?
i don't think so..
cos whatever we do, we do in love.. and we do with the people in mind.. don't be such smart mouths all the time..
being smart and being wise are two totally different things..
Be Wise..
p/s: i know lisa did a similar post recently but i totally drafted this a looong time ago! haha, it's not a copy, it's an enhancment :D

diehard quotaholic............
ok that for another time! (when i reach home)
well-written; actually it's really good how u write la... so straight-to-the-point and easy to read. *double thumbsup*
haha thanks lis.. it's like, this kind of spiritual stuff straight to the point better.. gets the message across haha.. the abstract kind would be less well recieved i think lol..
Abstract is pretty much useless to the masses that naturally might not understand it. Who says only abstract is beautiful?! Straight to the point makes fast and lasting impressions :)
Agreed, well said abs.. Extremes are never good.. Abstract has it's beauty and so does straight up, in your face literature haha.. It's all good :)
